Two benchtop centrifuges for regenerative medicine. The physics is the same in both; what changes is what fits inside and how much control you have over the spin.

A centrifuge separates by density: the heavier goes to the bottom, the lighter stays on top. That holds for any machine. Choosing between one and the other is about three things.

How much fits. The CF0506 is the smaller one, and it is what you buy when bench space is the constraint. The TD5 takes tubes and applicators from 10 to 50 ml and, with adapters, the syringe itself. The sample does not have to be transferred into a tube before spinning and back afterwards.

How much control. Speed range, readout unit (RPM or G-force), deceleration speed, stored programs. In a clinic running the same protocol dozens of times a week, that is the difference between configuring and pressing.

What happens when it goes wrong. A rotor loaded out of balance at 5000 rpm is the classic failure mode of a benchtop centrifuge. Lid lock, imbalance protection and overheating protection are not catalogue extras.
