Simulator for ACDF and cervical arthroplasty by the anterior route, C3 to T1, with trachea, oesophagus, carotid and jugular in the way.
On the anterior route the problem is not only the spine: it is getting to it. Between the skin and the vertebral body sit the carotid on one side, the trachea and oesophagus on the other, and the jugular along the way. The dissection that opens that corridor is half the procedure.
Cervical Anterior reproduces the whole corridor, in layers, from C3 to T1. Platysma, sternocleidomastoid, the infrahyoid muscles, the prevertebral fascia and the thyroid cartilage are in place, and so are the vertebral and carotid arteries.
One unit supports six corpectomies, five discectomies and five disc replacements. That changes the training arithmetic: the model does not run out at the first level, and a service can run a whole group on a single piece.
