Simulator for posterior decompression and stabilisation of the cervical spine, from the occiput to C7, with dura mater, CSF and vertebral artery.
The cervical spine is where the margin disappears. The canal is narrow, the cord is right there, and the vertebral artery crosses the transverse foramen in the path of any badly angled screw.
Cervical Posterior reproduces that set from the occiput to C7: the seven ligaments by name, the epidural fat, the dura mater with CSF and cauda equina, and the vertebral artery itself. Opening the dura here has a visible consequence, and closing it is a planned procedure, not an accident.
What you train runs from the incision to bleeding management, through laminectomy, laminoplasty, bilateral decompression and fusion. Fixation takes the lateral mass techniques discussed at congresses (Magerl, Louis, Roy-Camille), plus pedicle screw, laminar screw and occipital plate.
