Safe Block Kit
Plexus and peripheral nerve block kit with neurostimulable cannulas and the X-Grid™ precision and safety matrix.
PresentOverview
According to INNPORT, Safe Block was the world's first infiltration and block kit developed with the X-Grid™ matrix, and it is the line's best-selling solution in Brazil.
It is indicated for plexus and peripheral nerve block. The adhesive mask is placed over the field and appears on the fluoroscopy with the coordinates legible, which makes it possible to reach the target with fewer images. And fewer images means less radiation for the physician, for the patient and for everyone in the room.
In the study published in Acta Ortopédica Brasileira, researchers at the Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of HC-FMUSP compared genicular nerve block performed with and without the localising mask, on a model, with 23 orthopaedic surgeons. The number of radioscopies needed fell from 12.1 ± 2.5 without the mask to 5.0 ± 1.8 with it, a statistically significant difference at all three points studied.

The Spinal Interventional Society holds that there is no safe dose of radiation, and recommends the ALARA principle (as low as reasonably achievable). Every available protective measure should be adopted in interventional pain procedures.
The mask is placed over the field before the puncture: the coordinate read on the fluoroscopy is the same one the finger finds on the skin.
