X-Grid™ Matrix
Adhesive radiopaque precision and safety matrix, brought to Brazil by INNPORT, which locates the target by coordinate in fluoroscopy-guided procedures.
PresentOverview
The X-Grid™ matrix is an adhesive radiopaque plate, placed over the field before the procedure. It appears on the fluoroscopy image with the coordinates legible: the target is located by letter and number, not by trial.
According to INNPORT, the matrix is an exclusive, patented solution that it brought to Brazil, and INNPORT was the first company in the world to pair it with minimally invasive medical devices.
In the study published in Acta Ortopédica Brasileira, researchers at the Institute of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of HC-FMUSP compared genicular nerve block performed with and without the localising mask, on a model, with 23 orthopaedic surgeons. The number of radioscopies needed fell from 12.1 ± 2.5 without the mask to 5.0 ± 1.8 with it, a statistically significant difference at all three points studied.

The Spinal Interventional Society holds that there is no safe dose of radiation, and recommends the ALARA principle (as low as reasonably achievable). Every available protective measure should be adopted in interventional pain procedures.
The whole mechanism in one image: the coordinate read on the fluoroscopy is the same coordinate printed on the mask stuck to the patient.
